I agree with you about it being more difficult to motivate boys to read.
I have started instituting "free reading" during our homeschool day. He can pick anything he likes and read for 15 minutes. It has really increased his interest in reading.

Excellent advice! Boys love comics, too. As a teacher, my opinion is that what they read isn't so important as THAT they read.

how true this is. I have a 20 yr old and this is him to the t. and as far as twitter goes he likes his IM that's his reading time lately
